MARCEL STERKENBURG

Marcel Sterkenburg, born on May 19, 2001, in Hilversum, is a Dutch wrestling sensation on the rise. Marcel, along with his twin brother Tyrone, has a burning dream of competing in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and becoming the nation’s first-ever Olympic wrestling champion.

Marcel’s wrestling journey has been fueled by hard work, determination, and a passion for the sport. He understands that wrestling requires full focus, precise technique, and lightning-fast speed to achieve success, and he leaves no stone unturned in his pursuit of excellence. Marcel’s commitment to his craft is unwavering, and he pushes himself every day to become better, both mentally and physically.

As a wrestler, Marcel shares a unique bond with his twin brother Tyrone. They are not only training partners but also best friends, supporting and motivating each other every step of the way. Marcel’s accolades speak for themselves. He has already made a name for himself in the wrestling world with impressive achievements, including being crowned the 1st Europe Champ U23 Senior in 2022, 1st World Champ Juniors in 2021 and 1st German Champ in 2018. Marcel is currently ranked 22nd by the UWW (United World Wrestling) in the 87 kg weight class and he is determined to climb even higher on the global wrestling stage.
